Confirel renews its organic credentials across three continents

Confirel has just been renewed, in June 2026, all of its international organic certifications, securing continued access for its flagship products – Thnot palm sugar and Kirum Kampot pepper – to the European, US and Canadian markets. Two new certificates issued by Ecocert SAS, the company’s long‑standing certifying body, formally attest this status.

The first certificate is the organic import licence issued via the European TRACES platform under number KH‑BIO‑154.116‑0000015.2026.001. Dated 25 June 2026 and issued in L’Isle‑Jourdain by Ecocert SAS – accredited by COFRAC – it covers Confirel’s production, processing and export activities in line with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production. Valid until 31 March 2028, it gives Confirel almost two additional years of secure access to the European market.

The product list attached to the certificate reflects the breadth of Confirel’s organic portfolio: Thnot palm syrup, Skor Thnot palm sugar from Kampong Speu, Thnot sugar, and the full range of Kampot pepper – black, red and white, whole or ground, including mixed‑colour blends – all certified Organic without exception.

The second document, dated 24 June 2026, covers Confirel’s American organic certification under the National Organic Program (USDA, 7 CFR Part 205). It includes the categories “vegetables, melons, roots and tubers”, “condiments and seasonings”, “fruit‑based preparations” and “sugar”. Remarkably, the initial certification dates back to 28 December 2005, meaning Confirel has maintained uninterrupted US organic recognition for over twenty years, with updates each year on 1 August.

An addendum to the certificate lists fourteen products, all classified as “100% Organic”, from Kampot pepper in all its forms to Thnot sugars and syrup. Each of these products also benefits from COR equivalence, which automatically extends organic recognition to the Canadian market under the USDA–Canada organic equivalence agreement. Two sites are covered: Confirel’s head office in Phnom Penh and the Kampot farm, located within the Protected Geographical Indication area for the renowned pepper.

Taken together, these certificates confirm Confirel’s unwavering commitment to organic standards. For consumers and business partners alike, this triple regulatory anchor – European Union, United States and Canada – remains the strongest assurance that every grain of Kampot pepper and every spoonful of Thnot sugar complies with the strictest organic farming requirements, from the farm all the way to export.
